Lakshmi Gopalaswamy is a serious student of Bharathanatyam and a  renowned dancer. She has been performing since the age of 12.She has acted in Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada movies. For "Arayannangalude Veedu", her first Malayalam film, she earned the Kerala State Award for the best supporting actress. “Kochu Kochu Santhosangal “, her second film, also elicited much acclaim for her acting talents. Lakshmi is of the opinion that dance has taught her to discipline herself. She is the student of Guru Narmada. Besides dancing and acting, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy is also a well known as a model.  She won the award for Best Model of Kerala (2002). She was honored with the Madras Music Academy's prestigious award for Best Young Dancer.
